Extensively mentioned in the Holy Bible, hyssop stems from the Greek or Hebrew word “adobe” or “ezob” meaning “holy herb”. In ancient times, hyssop’s vital healing properties caused it to be used in more ways than any other herb.

Hyssop, "The Holy Herb”, was used to cleanse and purify humans, both internally and externally. It was also used to wash and polish sacred places. In the Holy Bible, powerful leaders such as David, Moses, Solomon and Jesus all used hyssop.
